Vitamin B is coming back at you with part 2 of our 2 part series featuring legendary UK producer DJs: “If you don’t know, now you know.” If you caught Deekline’s set at the last Vitamin B you know that we’ve taken off our “messing around” shoes and replaced them with our “that’s what’s up” boots. Shit’s getting real at the Vitamin B R&D labs. The safety is off and the countdown has been reset. Get ready to hold on to your butts….
ZINC
UK dance music legend Zinc (aka Jammin, Dope Skillz) has been an EDM originator for over 20 years. He was a pioneer in the Drum n Bass community, producing dozens of anthems with the Ganja Kru and True Players throughout the 90’s.
In the 2000’s Zinc turned his attention to Garage, Breakstep, Breaks and finally House. Since then he has been focused on crafting his own signature Crack House sound. He is also part of the pirate-turned-legit London radio station Rinse FM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rinse_fm.
If you want a taste of what Zinc is up to in recent years, check a few of these tracks:

Big shouts goes to Tektike, Tim and Barney for keeping Vitamin B steady on a monthly basis for a minute now, a gem of a party in terms of price and vibe. Quality electronic music across the bass and tempo spectrum. When No Parking was sleeping for a min they offered to do a vs concept where I book half the DJs and we all throw down. Its now an annual concept in its third year! Last one was pretty epic with folks like Duane Harriot, Michna (aka Egg Foo Young) and DJ Fucci slicing the dancefloor. This one we've imported some hometown heroes from down the eastern seaboard, Teknicolor Ninja and Michael Nighttime.
Besides being one of those sickeningly cute DJ couples, both these fools are well stocked with subsonic dancefloor weapons and are licensed to ill. Michael Nighttime hails from Philly but is down with Richmond's fine PLF (Party Liberation Front) crew, and throws down at a lot of Pex and other underground events. I first caught Teknicolor Ninja at a sunrise set in a Philly warehouse, killing it, she's also played a lot of Pex events etc but hails from Maryland. Been threatening to bring them both up for a minute so glad its all coming together.
Vitamin B residents really need no introduction but here goes. Tektite is nice both behind the design board and the decks, and his hardcore you know the score collection is not to be fucked with. Tim the Enchanter is one of the other founders with Tektite and always throws down, plus he's perfected the portable hottub...highly recommend hiring it for your next party...or possibly this one?! Barney Iller has slightly more facial hair then a typical bad guy on Barney Miller and 3x as funky, whatever the genre, tho for Vitamin B expect to get schooled on the finest in breaks n bass. consummate digger.
I'll be playing in the middle somewheres and will also have a new mix-CD at the door. Yes, $¢ gets off his lazy ass and makes a friggin' mix. News at fucking 11 I tell ya. What these ppl make me do. It's tentatively titled "How to put Jesus H Christ in a Chickenbasket in 31 seconds flat"...

So come dance your ass off (while you still have an ass) to the smooth stylings of Alex Funk, coming up from Baltimore as well as a special opening set by Orange Krush.

https://www.facebook.com/vbparty
Ok, I’m just kidding. You should like us, you really should, but you don’t have to. The passcode is “Guncle”. All you need is that and 10 American dollars to gain entry. Even if you can’t remember the code, as long as you have the $10 we’ll let you in.
LineupAs always, Hoopy Hour is 10:00 – 11:30. We’re changing it up a bit, if you bring a hoop or other flow toy before 11:30 admission is free! Holy frijoles!
10:00PM – 4:00AM
That's right, this month Vitamin B is happening on a Saturday! After dropping crazy science in the Vitamin B labs, getting approval from the Vitamin B legal team and a special dispensation from the pope, the first Friday in October is now falling on a Saturday. Same party, one day later! You may be feeling a bit confused and unsettled, but once your body has had time to process you'll find it just as titillating as we do.
Our special guest this month is a local favorite, FRIAR TUCK (Disorient). We’re excited to have him back on the decks. Check out this live set recorded at Baal Mart at Burning Man this past year: http://soundcloud.com/friartuck/burning-man-sessions-baal-mart
RESIDENTSSad because you’re going to PDF and going to miss this one? We’ve got you covered. The residents of Vitamin B will be piling into Tim the Enchanter’s crappy Saab and heading down to play a set or two on Friday night before coming back to set up for the party on Saturday. Don’t worry, you’ll find us. We’ll be where the party’s at.

Hey kids, first Friday is sneaking up and conveniently located just days after many of you will be slinking back to the city from a zomg desert experience. Come kick up some dust with Vitamin B’s totally official (sounding) Pre-Re-Entry-Post-Compress-O-Matic-Guncle-Bootylicious Dance Party (in 3-D!). Was your life forever changed by DJ Sparkleprancer’s 2 AM set on the blinky, pterodactyl shaped art hovercraft? How about when DJ Unicornucopia played an impromptu 3 hour set between two bands of the triple rainbow that formed after that freak skittlestorm? Want to keep that vibe going? Then come on out. All of your friends will be here.
Didn’t go to the burn this year? Who cares? Last year was way better. I hear it’s super dusty this year and the playa velociraptors are even crankier than usual. Come for the music, drinks and camaraderie. Stay for the Guncle!
This month we have DJ SEQUOIA (Mischief, Disorient) coming up from DC to rock the bells. He’s been dropping it like it’s hot for more than 15 years, first in Cali and now in the nation’s capital. He’s a fan favorite and we’re excited to have him. He also gets bonus points for using all five vowels in his DJ name (and a Q! Holy CRAP!)

We have a special treat for September, or favorite, most boisterous, loudest crew from Philly, Bangarang! has loaned us The Architech for the night. He’s bringing his signature sound of fidget, electro & breaks with a touch of booty and a sprinkling of hardcore.
The Architech has also been gracious enough to make a new Vitamin B mix CD for all of us. You can pick one up at the door while supplies last.
We also have special congratulations to offer to Tim The Enchanter, who was married last week. To celebrate we’ll have champagne and champagne cocktails at the bar.
As always you'll be Guncled™ at the door, and Samantha will keep the tasty beverages flowing
We had so much fun with the last contest we’ve decided to give it another go. The best Yo Mamma joke posted to our facebook invite wins VIP treatment at the September Vitamin B. Our winner and a friend will each receive free entry, two cocktails and a lap dance (optional) from our own Tim ‘The Enchanter’ Schumacher.

Follow the musical adventures of bright-eyed-burner Alex Berguson [played by Barney Iller (played by Alex Ferguson)] in a musical romp through the trials and tribulations of trying to get help and funding for his Booty-Tron 3000 playa art project. Watch as he tries to make a deal with Satan (hint: it involves whip-its) and be brought to tears by Stacycats’ solo “The Booty-Tron 1000 Was Way Better and you Should Shut Up.” The climactic moment features a dance off between Klingrap’s unicorn and Alex’s beard.
What the critics are saying:
“I think…[its]…the best” – Nicole P (edited due to space restrictions)
“I came” – Josh Goldberg
“I will expect a group grope” – Eli Kent
Ok, so none of that is true. It would be magical, but I just don’t have that kind of time. It will be two weeks before my wedding and two days after my birthday. I’ve got a lot on my mind. So we’re going to throw a dance party (special Saturday edition) instead. It’ll be fun! Come over after Kaleidoscope. We’ve got a couple of Kostume Kult favorites headlining.

Vitamin B presents ??? Friday 6/1
The Vitamin B crew desperately needs your help. We were walking by the party rescue shelter yesterday and this cute little fella came loping out, nipping at our ankles, begging us with those blinky party eyes to take him home. He’s such an energetic and spunky little party, but we’re not sure what to name him. He’s 3/8th’s booty breaks, 4/17th’s funky breaks, 7/23rd’s electro house, 4/19th’s funky house, and 1/13th Guncle.
Post your suggestions to the Facebook event page
We’ll narrow down to our favorites by 5/29 then let you vote for the best name. The winner will get their name on the comp list (+2) plus three free drinks. They will also totally get laid when they start telling people that they were the creative juggernaut that named the party. Seriously. Super laid. LINEUP:TARQUIN – Vitamin B welcomes back an original resident to tear up the dancefloor with a special breaks set.

Aight party ppls, we have a special one coming up at ye olde House of Yesssh. Vitamin B has their regular monthly first fridaze thang, serving up some tasty beats and pieces for more then a minute now, with all star residents Tektike, Tim the Enchanter, Barney Iller and Cecil Grey. Mofos will rock you like a hurricane.
Last year they invited No Parking to do a voltron-like party collabo which was off the chain ala hellraiser (literally, we ripped people apart by chains, dancefloor was a bloody mess). Folks like the one Munchi, Jay Zotos and my man Still Life all threw down. While No Parking has been on a slight hiatus, we've decided to team up again and mix and match styles into the early morn, with 8 strictly professional selectahs providing entertainment in the 5th dimension. (you need to bring your own '5D glasses' tho wink wink) All the Vitamin B regulars are in effect with nyc staples Duane, DJ Fucci, Michna aka DJ Egg Foo Young and No Parking mofo $mall ¢hange. Tickets will be issued to ppl standing around on the dancefloor. Don't let our sexy cops fool you...these tough bitches will pepper spray your balls faster then you can say #OWS.
Also don't forget our 'hoopy happy hour' with cheeeeap drinks til 11:30 and half price off for folks bringing flow friendly toys (hoops, poi, staff, halbred, juggling chainsaws). Plus visuals, cuddle area, cheap drinks, usual shizz...

Hey, Tektite here. This month Tim the Enchanter let me take over the write-up and indulge in my personal obsession. In honor of April, the best month of the NYC year, and also the time when cherry blossoms are in bloom, Vitamin B is going Japanese (again) with The Sakura Sessions.
But it doesn’t stop there folks, we also have the dancefloor-slayer and friend to all living creatures great and small, Lee Mayjahs?, on loan from PEX in Brooklyn for one night to celebrate his birthday!
Just when you think it couldn’t get any better, our own resident beat slinger Tim the Enchanter will be releasing his new mix CD, Face Down, the second edition of the Vitamin B CD series. Grab a free copy at the door! With a name like Face Down, I have a feeling it’s gonna be filthy.
As always Vitamin B weighs in at a wallet friendly $10 all night! Join us for top shelf chilled sake, Japanese cocktails and snacks all night. As always hoopy hour till 11:30 (half off drinks with hoop).

Like the idea of tsunamis but not the reality? Feeling guilty cause you never actually donated to the relief effort in Japan?
We've got your party right here.
Vitamin B Presents: Your Tsunami Can Suck It, A Benefit For Japan Part 2 of the Disorient DJ Takeover Series
We'll be transforming the House of Yes into an exotic far-Eastern realm of writhing bodies and pulsing beats using nothing but a quality sound system and great DJs (and maybe some theme appropriate shapes cutout of construction paper if we get around to it, but I wouldn't hold my breath). 100% of the profits from this party will go to the Red Cross, which is currently directing the lion's share of its new donations towards the Japan tsunami victims' relief effort. Not "a portion." All of it. Cause we do this for the love, not the money.
